My life has been filled with many forms of art- I have always had some sort of art project in process. Early on, I learned to sew at my grandmother’s side,  though sewing was not the only art expression I enjoyed. I loved drawing as a child and later studied watercolor painting which I really love. In grade school, I was sewing my own clothes.  When Barbie hit the toy market, my grandmother sewed for my

new dolls and I had no desire to follow down that path! AND I swore I would never sew for dolls!   Over the years, I had sewn for myself, my husband, my children, even for my daughter’s wedding, and our grandchildren. I have made flags for the high school marching band flag corp., but ... no… doll clothes!

What has led me to sew for dolls is actually my love of Star Wars especially the costuming of the Prequel Trilogy. I had been collecting the Hasbro Amidala dolls for a while but Hasbro did not continue dolls after the first movie so I thought I could recreate the costuming for the second and third movies myself. Around 2007 I found Laurie Leigh’s beautiful Padme repaints, contacted her AND the rest is history! I started collecting Tonner dolls that would best fit into my OOAK collection I would work to create. Though I thought I could also do the repainting, a very successful eBay auction for a Twilight Bella Prom outfit I had created started the realization that my focus should be doll costuming.

I began doing commission work in 2009 and my very first collaboration in 2010 was with Susan Hook who I have collaborated several times, and more recently with Laurie Leigh, Monica Kohnke, and Deborah Connelly-Bombich.

Though I do take commission work, I am booked into 2017.

I am so pleased to be invited to join the Repaint Society group of artists!  I count many of them as friends and look forward to creating fun projects with them!
