Emma Swan is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. When the Evil Queen loses, she casts an evil spell on the Enchanted Forest to send all of the fairy-tale characters to a place that is "horrible" and "where happily ever afters" don't exist.
Snow White and Prince Charming place their daughter in a magical wardrobe and send her away before the curse can affect her. It is prophesied that she will return to the town of Storybrooke, Maine to break the curse on her 28th birthday.
Emma Swan (the character is loosely based on "The Ugly Duckling") is portrayed by the inspiring Jennifer Morrison.
