Belle agreed to go away with Rumpelstiltskin so that he would save her family and kingdom from the Ogre Wars. A true sacrifice , she was happy to give her life for the ones she loved. But she slowly crept into Rumpel's heart until he was almost cured of being "the dark one" with true love's kiss.
Horrified he had almost lost his power, he threw Belle in the dungeon, where she told him all he'd ever have "is an empty heart and a chipped cup." Referring to the cup Belle had broken and Rumpelstiltskin kept because it reminded him of her.
Belle is based on the story of Beauty and the Beast and is portrayed by the enchanting Emilie de Ravin.
