The Huntsman, raised by wolves so therefore only saw purity in the heart of animals, was hired by the Evil Queen to hunt down and take Snow White's heart. The Huntsman finds Snow and she gives him quite a chase but stops and realized she can not win against a man of the woods. So she writes a letter to Regina (the Evil Queen, her step-mother) forgiving her.
When the Huntsman reads the letter it touches his heart and he lets her go free, instead giving Regina the heart of an animal. When Regina receives the heart she realizes she has been fooled and takes the Huntsman's heart instead, making him her "pet".
The Huntsman comes from the story, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and is portrayed by the sexy Jamie Dornan.
