Jefferson is one of the few characters who has the same name in both the Enchanted Forest and Storybrooke. He also remembers who he is and his past.
Jefferson became entangled with Rumpelstiltskin and Regina by stealing things for them in order to support his daughter. As a single dad he did not want to use his magic hat any more to transport people to other worlds. But seeing his daughter's needs he breaks his promise and works with Regina and is tricked by Rumpelstiltskin, and ends up being trapped in Wonderland where he loses his head.
Somehow, Jefferson winds up in a house in Storybrooke trying desperately to make a hat that will has magic while watching his daughter, who has no memory of him, with another family. This slowly makes him go mad.
Jefferson's story is inspired by Alice Through the Looking Glass and is portrayed by the broodingly handsome Sebastian Stan.
