Rev. Cindy Lorimer is an artist and medical illustrator, and has been creating one-of-a-kind repainted dolls and doll fashions for over 15 years. "Since I have been a professional artist nearly all my life, including a 10-year stint as a medical illustrator, it was only a matter of time before I was going to have to paint one of my dolls. When I finally sat down and put a paint brush to my first doll, it made me so happy, I just had to do more.
"As an ordained Interfaith minister, I naturally try to include a spiritual component in all my work, asking, before I begin painting, to be open as a channel for something beautiful to come through me. Sometimes, when I finish a doll, I am absolutely surprised and thrilled at what I have created. It's like each doll comes to life before my very eyes, with a spirit and a personality all her own."
