Today we talk with Shari Marscheider of SashaBleu about her Fairytale Redux choice and how she hopes to transform her.
How many shows have you been involved with?
I've only been involved with 2 prior shows (Once Upon a Time and Star Wars).
How long does a TRS project generally take for you?
A project can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I do a little at a time (work schedule and weather permitting- can't tell you how many times
it's crappy weather on my day off and I get nothing done.)
What's the hardest/best thing about participating?
The best thing about participating is the support from the other group members (Monica, Laurie and Susan are my heroes). The hardest thing is trying to come up with a "finished" doll that I'm happy with.
What's your personal favorite TRS achievement?
I don't know if it's an achievement, but I was very happy with the
Bespin Leia from the last project. (My pictures didn't do her justice.
She looked really, really good in person).
What's the most expensive element you've incorporated?
I'm not sure about expensive, but the Bespin Leia cape fabric was
specially printed for the project.
What excites you most about this show?
I'm excited about this show because I'm a total Disney fanatic.
Why did you pick your character?
I love all the Princesses, but Snow is the original Disney Princess.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is literally the movie that kept
Disney from bankruptcy. There's a whole building dedicated to them on
the Disney Production lot in Burbank, CA.
How did you decide your concept?
The concept was just the result of googling steampunk and Snow
White..... there are a lot of ideas and pictures out there.
What will be your greatest challenge in creating her?
The greatest challenge will be coming up with a doll that'll make
people go "Wow". I know a fair amount about the Disney Classics, but
not as much about Steampunk.
Thanks, Shari! Steampunk Snow White is gonna be great!
