My character Red Riding Hood has a very unique twist that in my research is based on the legendary werewolves of Ossory, a kingdom of early medieval Ireland. Having Irish heritage myself this cried out to me. I named her "Rua" which in Gaelic is associated with the color red.
She is an Irish princess in hiding. The red hood protects her identity. She has a family link to the wolves and is a fierce guardian of the forest. Coming soon she has a story to tell which I hope you will enjoy!
